Detailed Program

Step into the heart of Transylvania and embark on a culinary adventure that transcends the boundaries of a traditional lunch. This immersive experience offers a glimpse into the vibrant Transylvanian culture and the warmth of family life. Interact with the locals and embark on a discovery of the region’s authentic gastronomy and wines. It’s an opportunity to savor not just flavors, but the essence of Transylvania itself.

The lunch is offered at an old traditional house in a historic Transylvanian Saxon village, established 700 years ago, just a short distance from Sighisoara. Our beloved host, a local lady renowned within the community, embraces the Slow Food philosophy. Each dish is crafted with care, featuring locally sourced ingredients that reflect the seasons and cherished recipes handed down through generations. Impeccable cleanliness ensures a hygienic and comforting atmosphere.
Notably, our host has even delighted King Charles with her culinary expertise during his previous visits to this enchanting Saxon village.

Proposed Menu:

A seasonal soup followed by a steak with seasonal garnish and/or pickles. As a desert a home-made cake, usually a fruit pie based on season`s fruits will be served.

Included drinks: water, home-made palinka (traditional local home-made brandy out of fruits), tea made out of local herbs, coffee and fruit syrups such as elderflower cordial or lemonade.

There are no portions, the quantity of the food served is at the discretion of tourists.

Wine tasting: 5 different types of local home-made wines will be served accompanied by explanations about the over 2000 year old local wine culture, wine making techniques, and a lot of fun.

Bonus:

A visit of a 700 years old Saxon Fortified Church.
